Greenkeeper's Report

Work being done week commencing Monday 18th November

• Spike the greens (19mm solid tines) there will be a temporary green in play when work is being done on the main green
  
  
• Change both sets of holes after the greens have been spiked (holes are damaged when work has been done on the greens after spiking)
  
  
• Turf iron the greens after they have been spiked (helps give a better playing surface)
  
  
• Plant new trees around the course (if they get delivered this week)
  
  
• Spray Glysophate (plant killer) on the cockleshell paths
  
  
• Strim and clear up wildflower areas
  
  
• G.U.R bare areas on the course
  
  
• Sorrel roll the greens (aeration)
  
  
• Start spiking fairways and thin areas on the course (golf clubs spiker)
  
  
• Re build 5th shelter toilet area (all fence panels are broke)
  
  
• Trim around tee sprinklers
  
  
• Divot tees
  
  
• Brush the fairways (good presentation, clears up divots etc, removes worm casts and helps let air into the grass plant)

Work done:

• Gorse areas on the 1st/17th have been done (there is a notice on the clubhouse notice board explaining what work has been done and why it is essential to do this work)
  
  
• Par 3 tees have been spiked, seeded and top dressed (fertiliser will be applied when the weather warms up)
  
  
• Greens sprinklers were trimmed around
  
  
• All greens were sorrel rolled (aeration)
  
  
• Hedges on 4th/5th/15th gaps have been tidied up (same as hedge work done by the 4th green last winter)
