Work being done week commencing Monday 21st October

• Spray seaweed on the greens (helps seed germination)
• Spray turf hardener on the greens (makes grass plant stronger against
  diseases)
• Spike the greens (12mm solid tines)
• Turf iron the greens after spiking
• Change both sets of holes (after trialling different cups and pins, we have now purchased the right ones for our course. They will be put out on the course when we hole change)
• Change the tines on the spiker (replace with 19mm tines ready for tees/aprons spiking)
• Carry on strimming bunker edges and weeding bunker faces
• G.U.R bare areas around the course
• Put winter tee markers out (paint summer tee markers ready for next year)
• Tidy gorse areas (strim and spray Glysophate) then plant new gorse to thicken up the plantations

Work done

With all the rain we have had this week, presenting the course has been difficult. Some areas have not been cut as ground conditions were just to wet.

• Slope going down onto the 5th/15th path was made safer (dug out some soil and put scalpings down)
• Finished tidying up areas where the long grass was cut (strimmed and cut low branches on trees)
• Stakes and rope were put out on the course to protect worn areas
• Started strimming bunker edges and weeding bunker faces
• Started planting new gorse to thicken up plantations
