Greenkeeper's report
Work to be done week commencing Monday 7th October: Over seed, top dress and mat in dressing (weather dependant looking to do the work on Tuesday. A temporary green will be in play when work is being done on the main green)
Contractor cutting the long grass around the course
Use the clubs flail to cut areas where the contractor cannot do
Strim around trees where the long grass is cut
Seed bare areas on the aprons
Carry on seeding/ top dressing bare areas around greens bunkers
G.U.R bare areas/ 16th O.O.B line/ knock fence post back in by the cliff edge
Sorrel roll greens
Spray greens with preventative fungicide against greens diseases
Seed/ top dress/ mat par 3 tees
Seed/ dress bare area between hedge and left bunker on the 13th hole Unfortunately greens seeding was not done last week owing to mechanical problem with the seeding machine that we hired. As you will most probably be aware we had a hydraulic leak on a machine. We will do what we can to get the areas back to how they were once we know the full damage done. The long grass areas were not cut last week due to wet conditions. Hopefully they will be done this week if conditions are good.
Work completed: Greens were slit
Iron was sprayed on the greens and aprons to harden the grass plant up against disease
Finished topping up sand in low bunkers
Driving range was cut
Driving range carpark and entrance was strimmed
Started seeding and top dressing bare areas around bunkers Peter Connett (Head Greenkeeper)
