Work being done week commencing Monday 3rd June

- Mix up loam and sand (used for top dressing tees)
- Top dress and seed the tees
- Spray primo (growth regulator) on tees
- G.U.R bare areas around the greens
- Water new trees
- Strim 14th ditch (Rightside of fairway)
- Trim tee sprinklers
- Fix and set greens sprinklers
- Hand water dry areas on greens
- Start trimming edges and checking sand levels in bunkers
- Height of cut on the greens will be lowered from 4.5mm to 4mm

Work was done

- Greens were top dressed (a total of 18tonnes was put on all the greens) Total amount so far put on the greens this year is 68tonnes
- Greens were fertilised with a granular feed
- Aprons were fertilised with a granular feed
- Bunker edges and long areas of rough that grow faster were sprayed with primo (growth regulator)
- Tee stones and greens sprinklers were trimmed
- Shrubs and wild flower areas were hand watered
- Ball washers were topped up with fresh water
- Some greens sprinklers were fixed and set

Turf ironing has not been done this week, this is because the greens have been fertilised. The granulars have to break down naturally by water so that you get an even spread. If we turf ironed the roller would crush the granular and give an irregular spread.

During this dry spell the irrigation is being used. We monitor the moisture levels in the greens with the clubs moisture meter; we look to keep them around 25%.

This week with a combination of the height of cut being lowered, top dressing done, cutting and ironing the putting surface will get more true and faster.
