Work done last week - 12 greens were spiked. The rest of the greens will be finished when the spiker is fixed. - New 16th bunkers have had the bases lined with grass turf. They will be sprayed with Glysophate to kill off the grass (we want the fibre of the turf to stop soil and sand contamination and help with drainage) Once the grass has died both bunkers will be sanded. Bunker banks have had the left over turf used on them, the areas that have not been turfed will be seeded in the spring. - 4th right hand bunker has had added drainage to help drain the bunker. The soil area out of the bunker will be seeded in the spring. - New 16th green has had the height of cut lowered to 7mm. The green will be weekly turf ironed to help give a better surface. - Laurel hedge (main carpark) 18th hole side has been cut back tight to make the hedge narrower and easier to maintain. The carpark side and top of hedge will be done this week coming. All cuttings will be burnt on site. - 4th hedge in front of tee has been tidied up to help give a better sight line and also make the bank look in keeping with the rest of the banks on the course. - Some of the worst greens with disease (fusarium) that are still active have been sprayed again.
