Work being done week commencing Monday 10th December • Plant gorse / fence area when finished • Plant hedge row trees on 17th bank next to Greenkeepers work sheds • Finish oiling tee signs • Put top soil on new bank on chipping area (area will be seeded in the spring) • Spike greens / change all holes / turf iron greens after spiking • Start spiking tees / aprons / new 16th green • Pick up debris on the course from storm damage • Carry on spiking fairways and bare areas • Stake and rope more wet areas (back of 4th green / 15th tee area use winter path) Work done last week • All trees have been planted on the course. By planting the trees it will give the holes more shape (species of trees planted oaks, silver birch, romans, maples and pines) • All fairways and bare areas have been spiked twice now. More spiking will be done to let the water into the ground and help with recovery from the hard summer • Thin areas on the greens were fertilised to help grow the areas in • A bank was built on the chipping area to cover the fir tree stumps • A gorse area was made on the 17th hole to cover the fir tree stumps • Three quarters of the tee signs have been oiled No work was done on the new 16th bunkers because weather was to wet to do the job Thin and bare areas around bunkers and greens (from bunker project) will be spiked, over seeded, top dressed, rolled and fertilised in the spring when weather conditions become warmer for seed to germinate and help with growing the areas in.
