Winter Knockouts

Members are now able to sign up for the winter knockout competitions. So if you would like to enter please do so before the closing date of the 16th November.

Hands up if…

We’ve all done it. A solid front nine sees us make the turn one or two under our handicap, and we carry on playing the same over the next few holes. All of a sudden we only have a few holes left to play and think to ourselves: ‘I’ve been going along quite nicely, I wonder what score I’m on.’ A quick glance down at the scorecard reveals we’re on for a great round and nice little handicap cut; we might even win the monthly medal! Ten minutes later and we’ve three-putted the next green, lost a couple of balls and left one in the bunker.

Luckily for us, it’s not just us mere mortals who suffer this kind of feat. Stand up, Dustin Johnson – the current world number one. The American was six shots clear of the field with 18 holes left to play at the weekend’s WGC-HSBC Champions Event, only to shoot five-over on Sunday and lose by two shots to eventual winner Justin Rose.

Presentation Night 2017

Just to confirm that this year’s annual presentation night will be held on Friday 1st December.

Members' Christmas Party

125 Year celebration booklets and calendars now available from the office. Only £6 for a celebration booklet and only £5 for a calendar!

Quiz Night

The next monthly quiz night will be on Tuesday 14th November

£7.50 per person for food.

The food on the evening will be Chicken Tikka Masala, Lemon Rice and poppsdom. There will also be a vegetarian option.

So for a fun evening please enter your teams before it's too late!

Driving Range

Can anyone who has a driving range basket please return it to the Pro Shop as soon as possible as once again we are very short of baskets.

Also, if any members have any old golf balls that they are willing to donate for use on the driving range it would be very much appreciated by the club.
