Golf Course Maintenance Week 

This time last year the club's management gave us the support and permission to carry out an intensive maintenance program on the greens during August 2016. 

Intensive work will be carried out on the greens week commencing 15th of August through to the 19th of August, staff will be given absolute priority on the course whilst this essential work is carried out. 

We aim to carry out aeration, deep scarification, top dressing and an application of potassium fertilizer on all greens. It will be very important to allow staff to carry out work without interruption. This will ensure that we work efficiently and safely. 

August has been chosen as intensive works can be carried out on greens with recovery times being minimal as growth is still good. Carrying out this type of operation later in the year and we get into the realms of gambling. Fine if the weathers good but bad if it comes in cold or wet. Turf recovery will be slow. 

Temporary greens will be in use at times during the week which will enable us to keep working. 

We apologise for any disruption to your game, and do hope that you can see that this work is 100% necessary if quality facilities are to be maintained on our busy golf course.
